Three weeks stay of two Australian Scholars in Germany
10.04.2018

We were happy to host two Australian PhD-scholars, Stephanie Allison and Fatemeh Karimi, at the University of Bayreuth.
This was their last stop of an inspiring stay in Germany: They first attended the IFF Spring School 2018 “Physics of Life” in Jülich, organized by our network member Prof. Stephan Förster (Forschungszentrum Jülich). Then they continued their journey to the Leibniz Institute for New Materials (INM), Saarbrücken, where Prof. Tobias Kraus and his team organized an impressive programme, including a scientific workshop and one-to-one interviews with several researchers and the management board. At the University of Bayreuth they attended a scientific workshop on Biomaterials (Prof. Thomas Scheibel and Prof. Gregor Lang). Besides the scientific programme Stephanie and Alison enjoyed the character of the German landscape and cities as well as the typical Franconian food. And they didn’t get deterred by the winterly temperatures they changed for the Australian summer at that time.
