The Melbourne–Bayreuth Colloid/Polymer network successfully established a vital and productive research and education network in the field of colloid and polymer materials for life sciences and energy applications.
By deepening existing cooperation, setting up new research activities, attracting new scientists and evolving career moves from individual PIs, the network has experienced continuous and stable growth. The network started with 5 partner institutes, which united 13 Australian and 11 German research groups in the network. The University of Bayreuth, the University of Melbourne and the Monash University are still the main drivers of the network. But not least caused by personal changes, the network constantly grows and nowadays consists of 8 partner institutes. It now includes 20 Australian and 17 German research groups as well as 7 associated research groups.
