In January 2019 a new Collaborative Research Centre (CRC), funded by the German Research Fuoundation DFG, was established at the University of Bayreuth. The CRC  1357 Microplastics at the University of Bayreuth will research the effects of microplastics, as well as their migration and formation, and develop new approaches to solving this immense environmental problem.
Since the topic is closely related to our network, some of our members participate in the research.
In addition, our long-time project coordinator Melanie Pöhlmann switched to now coordinate this Collaborative Research Centre.
