Exchange and joint PhD in times of COVID-19

If a Joint PhD at two universities, across continents, is challenging in itself, the current travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic add further obstacles.

However, a researcher tandem of our network is not discouraged by this. Our network students Sarah Lentz (Chair of Biomaterials, Prof. Dr. Thomas Scheibel, University of Bayreuth) and Nicholas Chan (Chair of Chemical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Greg Qiao, University of Melbourne) are working on crossing borders as part of their joint PhD. - And this in more than one sense.
